With regard to the issue of adjusting the period of military service, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) once again stated that the whole case is being considered in a holistic manner, taking into account factors such as the international and regional situation, defense operations needs, improvement of combat power of the Armed Forces, and career planning of draftees. As such, inter-ministerial coordination of relevant ministries will continue to be carried out thoroughly to fully furnish administrative procedures. What has been reported in the media that the announcement schedule has been disrupted following concerns affecting the 2024 presidential election is, therefore, untrue.
