In response to media reports of a "suspected scabies cluster infection at the Chenggongling New Recruits Training Center", the 10th Army Command stated today (3rd) that a military draftee, Lee, under mandatory military service at the Chenggongling barracks area sought medical treatment during his vacation due to itchy, red, and swollen skin. He was later transferred to Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital with assistance from his unit for further examination, and it was later ruled out that he had contracted "scabies." He is currently on medication and medical observation.
The 10th Army Command emphasizes that the unit adopts the spirit of "treating servicemen as if they were relatives", and takes good care of them. In addition, each and every unit places great importance on environmental sanitation, and employs the most rigorous attitude to eliminate all diseases and eradicate potential chains of transmission to ensure the overall combat effectiveness of troops.
