The Ministry of National Defense issues a press release about military sales by the US government to for "naval vessel spare parts and related technical support"

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (9th) that the US government will conduct a "notification to Congress" on June 8, Eastern Standard Time, regarding the sales of "navy vessel spare parts and related technical support" to Taiwan, totaling US$120 million, which should come into effect in one month.
The MND pointed out that the United States will continue to assist Taiwan in maintaining sufficient self-defense capabilities based on the Taiwan Relations Act and Six Assurances, which is the basis for maintaining regional stability.
In view of recent frequent activities by CCP aircraft and warships around our peripheral sea and airspace, the vessel spare parts the United States has agreed to sell to Taiwan at this time will help sustain our naval vessels and equipment and accommodate combat readiness needs.
