In response to media reports stating doubts about the "safety of military equipment in the Armed Forces," the MND has provided the following explanation:

1. The procurement, production, and acceptance of new-style personal combat equipment of the Armed Forces are all given the highest priority in order to protect officers and soldiers so that the servicemen can exert their combat power. Such equipment is placed under strict control and checked based on relevant standards to ensure the quality is free from any defects.

2. The research and development test of personal combat equipment is carried out according to the needs of various military services, while tests are furnished in accordance with strict production inspection procedures, and records are available for examination and scrutiny.

3. As for the extensive research and reform proposals proposed by various parties, the Armaments Bureau is pleased to see the participation and support of our nationals and will carefully research and refer to them with the hope that it can provide the best products to the servicemen of our Armed Forces.
