The Ministry of National Defense issues a press release about "the regular promotion of generals of the Armed Forces on January 1, 2022"

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (27th) that generals of the Armed Forces will be promoted as normal on January 1, 2022. As decided and approved by the president, Major General Liao Chien-hsing and four other individuals are to be promoted to Lieutenant General, whereas 19 individuals, including Colonel Tan Yung, will be promoted to Major General. Promotions shall take effect on January 1, 2022.
The MND have confirmed that the four individuals to be promoted to lieutenant general are Liao Chien-hsing, Chen Chien-i, Hsu Chin-teng, and Lu Chien-chung. The 19 to be promoted to major general are Tan Yung, Liang Yung-kun, Chang Wei-chao, Lu Shih-cheng, Wang Hsiu-chih, He Chih-hao, Kuo Kun-ming, Wu Kuo-liang, Wu Chien-hui, Lin He-chin, Li Yung-kang, Wu Tien-jen, Kao Chih-hsiung, Yuan Sheng-hua, Wu Hsing-hsien, Pan Tung-chu, Hsieh Ching-yuan, Chin Teng-fu, Cheng Wen-hsien.
The MND further stated that the promotion ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on December 28 (Tuesday) at the Welcome Hall of the Bo'ai Building of the Ministry. The event will be presided over by Minister Chiu. The usual group photo shoot and sharing of congratulations by the President to generals on their promotions will be cancelled due to the epidemic. The MND will instead invite families of officials who received a promotion in the second half of 2021 to attend the ceremony. The President is cordially invited to speak in person to encourage and inspire the Armed Forces.
