Army Command issues a press release in response to media reports that "an unexploded bomb was suspected to have been found at Beiliao Beach, Penghu".

Press release of the Penghu Army Defense Command

Penghu Army Defense Command stated today (25th) that it received a report that an unexploded bomb was suspected to have been found at the neighboring beach of the Beiliao Security Checkpoint. When the unexploded object was identified by the bomb disposal team, it was classified as a "mine left from year prior." Since the mine was rusted over, the material it is made of and the batch number are unknown. Considering the integrity of the mine and health and safety of passers-by, the site was blocked by marine patrol personnel.

Penghu Defense Command pointed out that it requested relevant units to hold a coordination meeting today, and has decided to implement on-site blast operations from 8 am to 10 am tomorrow (26th). Furthermore, Command has also issued an announcement regarding the matter and asks the public to stay away from the alert area when the explosions are being carried out to avoid potential danger.
