Political Warfare Bureau,M.N.D.PostDate: 2021/10/10

To celebrate the 110th National Day of the Republic of China, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) announced today (10th) that the MND will, in line with the planning of the National Day Preparatory Committee, support the three stages of tasks, including the "Warm-up", the "National Day Convention" , and "Theme-based Performances." It is hoped that these tasks will demonstrate the non-relinquishable determination of the Armed Forces to defend Taiwan and safeguard our homeland through the display of representatives of officers and soldiers as well as various weapons and equipment.

The main points of the performance by the MND in supporting the 110th National Day celebrations are as follows:

Warm-up:

First, a total of 347 members from the Joint Band of the Armed Forces and Honor Guard of the Republic of China will perform an ensemble of performances and rifle exhibition drills. In the first half, the band will play two self-composed repertoires - "Glory March" and "Never Turn Your Back on the Pandemic". The Honor Guard will play three formations - "Soaring as Flying Wings", "Solidarity" and "Unity of Wills." In the intermission, the demonstration band and percussion instrument players from the Army, Navy, and Air Force band will form a marching drum team and perform. Under a neat and steady pace of rhythmic change, they will march forward with their heads held high, demonstrating their determination to meet the challenges and achieve the missions of the Armed Forces. In the second half, the bands will perform three songs - "Flying against the Wind" by the famous singer Hsiao Huang-qi, the end song "Clapping Hands" from Chi Po-lin's documentary, and "Dear to be Stupid and Crush" by Eggplant Egg – a Taiwanese band. The Honorable Guard  will then perform formation changes - "Heading Towards the Future", "Charge", "Three Armies as One", and "Victorious Double-Ten."

Celebration convention:

In this event, six representatives from the police, fire-fighters, and the medical and sporting world are invited to sing the national anthem with the National Taiwan Hakka Children's Choir. Throughout the performance, two largest national flags in history will, under the escort of two CH-47 transportation helicopters, and AH-46 and AH-1W attack helicopters, be hung in the arena, symbolizing the far-reaching significance of Taiwan's unity and confidence in moving forward.

Theme-based performance:

Flying units of the Armed Forces will perform an aerial march-past involving aircraft such as one batch of three sorties by a rotor fleet (Army AH-64E, AH-1W, UH-60M and Navy S-70C helicopters), one batch of three sorties by a slow-speed fleet (Air Force BH-1900C and C-130H aircraft), and one batch of five sorties by a fast-speed fleet (IDF, F-16V and Phantom 2000 aircraft). These aircraft will render a uniform formation flying through the sky in front of the stand as they demonstrate the fruits of their intensive training in the Armed Forces to protect our nationals and safeguard the safety of our airspace.

The rapid response company (FRC) from MP Command, also known as the loyal and iron cavalry, which first adopted the "company organization" formation, will take center stage led by a Mercedes C43 AMG convertible and appear for the very first time in front of our nationals. It will be escorted by nine tactical reconnaissance vehicles and 54 heavy locomotives as they pass the stand at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour, demonstrating the results of the FRC of MP Command in their daily intensive training.

The next echelon of "heroes" are made up of 126 representatives from decorated officers and soldiers who have been part of disaster relief, drought, and epidemic prevention actions this year. The "disaster relief and flood prevention equipment echelon", which includes as many as 20 different cars such as biological detection vehicles, heavy-duty disinfection vehicles, earth loading vehicles, dump trucks, excavators, tractors, water purification equipment vehicles, and floating-door bridge vehicles, will also be on display. Furthermore, the most eye-catching echelon of "indigenous defense equipment", will encompass 48 kinds of cars such as the Army CM32 step-mounted command vehicle, CM33 and CM34 step-mounted combat vehicle,  Thunder-bolt 2000 Multiple Launch Rocket vehicles (including command vehicles and ammunition vehicles), Sky Sword II launch by the National Chung Shan Institute of Science (including control vehicles and radar vehicles), army microwave vehicles, MSI vehicles, electromagnetic spectrum reconnaissance vehicles, Navy Brave Wind II and III missile vehicles (including control vehicles, radar vehicles, communication vehicles. and mobile repair vehicles), and Air Force Sky Bow III missile vehicles (including decoy radar vehicles, communication vehicles) and others as they pass the viewing stand. These parades will show the Armed Forces as an elite troop that can support rescue missions following disasters during peacetime and fight fiercely in wartime.

Finally, AT-3 jet trainers from the Air Force Thunder Tigers will take the formation of five aircraft geese at the end of parade as they pass from the back of the Presidential House to the sky above the stand. In this neat formation, the sound of engines shock the audience as they emit blue, white, and red smoke, drawing an end to the successful 110th National Day Celebration of the Republic of China, congratulate the Republic of China for its prosperity and wish all nationals a peaceful and contented home and work life.
