The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (28th) that generals of the Armed Forces will be promoted regularly on July 1, 2021, and the President has approved Major General LI, TIEN-LUNG and three other servicemen to be promoted to Lieutenant General, while Colonel TSOU, YI-CHIEN and 23 other servicemen will be promoted to Major General. Promotions will be take effect on July 1, 2021.

The MND stated that servicemen to be promoted to Lieutenant General are LI, TIEN-LUNG, HSIEH, CHI-HSIEN, SHAO, and WEI-YANG, while the 23 other individuals to be promoted to Major General are TSOU, YI-CHIEN, CHIANG, YI-CHENG, LIN, CHEN-YU, CHANG, CHUN-CHIH, CHENG, CHIA-CHI, MAO, CHIEN-CHIU, WANG, YUEH-YANG, TANG, YUNG-CHING, HUANG, CHIEN-SHENG, HE, SHAO-HUA, CHEN, HENG-WEI, LIN, SHIH-WEI, CHAO, CHIEN-HUA, CHEN, YI-CHIH, TSAI, TSE-MING, TUNG, CHI-HSING, WEI, I-WEN, WANG, CHIA-JUNG, HSU, PING, CHU, CHIU, CHENG-PIN, CHIU, CHENG-PIN, TSAI, SHUN-YUAN, KENG, YING-CHIEH.

The MND further stated that the promotion and rank conferral ceremony for army, navy and air force generals in the second half of 2021 will be held and delegated to each of the units in response to the severe domestic epidemic as well as in accordance with third-level alert policy guidance issued by the Central Epidemic Command Center as epidemic prevention is a priority. If the epidemic slows after, the MND will choose another date and respectfully invite the president to offer congratulations.
