Lieutenant General Mei, Deputy Chief of Staff, inspects and guides the tri-service joint combat training test to verify joint command and control capabilities of the troops

(Hsieh Hung-Kuai, reporter for the Military News Agency, Pingtung, 15th) Lieutenant General Mei Jia-shu had, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) has for two consecutive days inspected and guided exercises NO 110-1 and 110-2 by the Marines Corps as well as the Tri-Service Joint Operation Training Test to support and encourage the officers and soldiers in their hard work to prepare for combat readiness. He also requested the servicemen to continue striving in their training to enhance the operation effectiveness of troops.
Yesterday evening (14th), Deputy Chief Mei personally guided the 99th Marine Brigade when conducting night tests, and checked and reviewed the operations by officers and soldiers as they achieved their combat missions in poor visibility. Deputy Chief Mei also led the General Staff Headquarters of the MND this morning to inspect and supervise the entire exercise as they verified the command, control, and joint operation capabilities of troops. After the exercise, Deputy Mei, on behalf of the Minister of National Defense, Chiu Kuo-Cheng, and Chief of Staff, General Huang Shu-Kuang, awarded the troops with bonus dish money as a reward for their hard work.
The exercise of battlefield reconnaissance was first carried out by a Cardinal II unmanned aerial vehicle (UAS), while IDF fighters of the Air Force, AH-1W attack helicopters, and other forces successively conducted pre-emptive attacks. Afterwards, 155 howitzers, 120 mortars, and 81 mortars fired at the target to cover the ground forces to launch attacks, destroy enemy weapons and positions one by one, successfully seize the target area, and complete the mission.
Deputy Chief Mei affirmed the hard work demonstrated by the officers and soldiers throughout the exercise, and he hopes all units will further improve themselves, comprehensively improve equipment, personnel training and safety control measures, and strengthen training safety to ensure the combat effectiveness of troops.
In the current situation, Deputy Chief Mei urges all officers and soldiers to do their best to protect their homes and defend their country as they do their duty in combat training to effectively enhance the combat effectiveness of the Armed Forces.
