Political Warfare Bureau,M.N.D.PostDate: 2021/01/13

The Naval Command stated today (13) that the Command has properly planned and adjusted the mission of the "Midshipmen Cruising & Training Squadron of the Goodwill Fleet by the Republic of China Navy" taking into account the current severe international epidemic situation, so that the mission has been changed into “summer training for recent graduates for year 2021 by the Navy Academy." This summer training will consist of four weeks of shore training and four weeks of port training, so that ship practice training and certification of on-duty deck officers, as well as marine sailing by fresh graduates, are all implemented. Therefore, they will be able to smoothly serve as officials with practical works on board of the vessel (troop) following graduation.

The Naval Command wants to emphasize that various epidemic prevention measures are being implemented during the training period  in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). Officers, soldiers, and students in missions will wear masks throughout the process and must have their body temperature taken and sterilize their hands with alcohol before class. As for co-training vessels, such measures as cabin separation and diversion of personnel have been carried out, and cabin disinfection and ventilation operations are conducted in both the morning and the afternoon. If personnel are suspected of having symptoms of the novel coronavirus or are feeling unwell, they will be immediately sent to the doctor for examination and treatment to ensure that all officers, soldiers, and students can stay healthy and safe.
